Spotlight On - Transportation Management for Events

Nov 14, 2023

For more than a decade, TransAction has been providing transportation management services for large events in Massachusetts. From planning bus routes for walk and race participants, to coordinating multiple service providers, to staffing ground crew, TransAction ensures that transportation operations go smoothly on the day of your event.

This October, TransAction’s team helped to transport thousands of participants at the annual Jimmy Fund Walk organized by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Whether they walked the full marathon route from Hopkinton, the half marathon route from Wellesley, the 10K from Newton, or the 5K from Dana Farber, everyone who walks makes an important contribution to this great cause. Participants are on pace to raise $9 million dollars this year to fund cancer research and support patients.

TransAction began working on the event as part of the team in 2010 and coordinates:

  • Operations for three bus companies with a total of 50 buses
  • Medical Sweep buses and teams who assist walkers in need along the route
  • Ground crew who directs service on the day of the event
